It’s time to get you in front of the Camera!

This is an exciting time, but can be stressful. 75% of my clients HATE having their photos taken. Luckily I say “leave cheese at the door” and we work together to ensure you are the most natural, comfortable, and authentic version of yourself. Keeping it real is where it’s at with modern representation online.

The attached guide is here to help you plan out your day and to answer any questions you may have so that you can relax and enjoy the experience.

Step by step – THE BREAKDOWN

Before Your Session

Before Booking:

There are some decisions that you need to make when confirming your photographer:

  1. What is the main purpose of your images? What do you need the photos for? Is there a specific size, orientation or usage you are requiring? By default I typically photograph a variety of horizontal and vertical images and will deliver in both web and print size formats for user ease across digital platforms.
  2. How many final images will you need?
  3. What will you wear?
  4. Would you like a professional Make-Up Artist/ hair stylist?
  5. Do you love Pinterest? start your photo shoot inspiration board today and share it with me @lauriecadman

Booked, Pre-Shoot Prep:

If you plan to do any tanning, teeth whitening, hair removal, or facials please be sure to do this at least one week in advance of the shoot. Sometimes with waxing, skin irritation can remain for a few days after. We want you to look as much like your authentic self as possible. To be clear, I am not the kind of photographer who will casualy photoshop you into your ideal shape. Authenticity is key and I keep it as real as possible.

Let’s talk nails. If your toes will be visible in the photos, your nails should be painted. I recommend red, pink, or neutral / french for toes and typically soft pink, neutral, clear or french for the hands. Chipped polish is the worst so always bring your colour just in case last min touchups are needed.

Model Tips! Reducing caffeine, nicotine, alcohol or cannabis, and increasing your water, dark greens, and citrus intake for at least one week prior to the shoot will help your skin look radiant and amazing.

Pack everything in advance so that your pre-shoot time is stress-free. I always have a steamer available to touch up any wrinkles in wardrobe

During Your Session:

Please arrive at your scheduled time and location. Make sure you’ve packed any wardrobe, make-up or hair styling tools you might need. If you would prefer to hire a make-up artist, you can see my list of recommended artists. Contact me for details.

After Your Session:

Within 1 week of the photo shoot, you will receive a gallery of your best images to make your final selections. Do you hate the selection process? Would you rather work through this together? Ask me about the onsite review and selection to see if it’s available for your session. Once you have submitted your email address and final selections, you will receive your completed digital images within 2 weeks via online transfer.

From there you can download, upload and enjoy! I ask that you tag me as your photographer when posting to social media, because I love to share, acknowledge, and celebrate you or your business and images as well!

Looking forward to working together soon. Send me a message if you have any questions and let’s get you looking fabulously up-to-date online.
