So you want not blurry, adorable images of your fur-baby? You’ve come to the right place!

I’m already excited! Even as a child I was always drawn to animals, whether it be a dog, cat, lizard, bird… just no snakes ok? I have a hard time with things that don’t have legs, or have more than 6 legs. The struggle is real. I bring unique experience from my history of working with Santa Claus and pets annually for over 10 years, though Conestoga Mall! Whether your pet is well-trained or “free-spirited” I always welcome the challenge. Sometimes the best images are created in chaos.

Okay so let’s get to it! The attached guide is here to help you plan out your day and to answer any questions you may have so that you can relax and enjoy this experience.

Before Your Session

Before Booking:

There are some decisions that you need to make before confirming your photographer:

  1. What is the main purpose of your images? What do you want the photos for? Is there a specific size, orientation or usage you are requiring, if being printed multiple times or published? By default, I typically photograph a variety of horizontal and vertical images and will deliver in both web and print size formats in colour and black and white for user ease in printing or posting across digital platforms.
  2. How many final edited images will you need?
  3. Is there wardrobe we need to consider? Doggles? Adorable cat sweaters? Or are we keeping it bare and free? Are you also wanting to be in the photos, furry family portrait style?
  4. Do you love Pinterest? Start your photo shoot inspiration board today and share it with me @lauriecadman

Booked, Pre-Shoot Prep:

Pack everything in advance so that your pre-shoot time is stress-free. I recommend packing the following items:
– Treats!
– A favourite toy, especially if they flash or make noise that will help keep the attention of your pet
– A Bed, blanket or clothing item that your pet is comfortable with
– A Leash
– Poop Bags

During Your Session:

Please arrive at your scheduled time and location, with your essentials packed and ready to go. If we are shooting on location, I recommend arriving 15 min early to start getting your pet used to the surroundings and take a pre-shoot bathroom break.

I always book the first 15 minutes of the session to allow you and your pet to explore and get a bit more comfortable in the space before formally starting to photograph. Occasionally this will take longer than 15min but rest assured, my top priority is to get the best final images!

After Your Session:

Within 1 week of the photo shoot, you will receive a gallery of your best images to make your final selections.

Do you hate the selection process? Would you rather work through this together? Ask me about the on site review and selection to see if it’s available for your session. Once you have submitted your email address and final selections, you will receive your completed digital images within 2 weeks via online transfer.

From there you can download, upload and enjoy! I ask that you tag me as your photographer when posting to social media, because I love to share, acknowledge, and celebrate your furbaby! Please also provide your preferred tags for social sharing.

Looking forward to working together soon. Send me a message if you have any questions and let’s get you some timeless memories of your favourite fur-babies.
