Hi, I’m Laurie!
Hey there! My name is Laurie, and I’m a Professional Entrepreneur based in Ontario, Canada, and available for assignments worldwide! I have been working in a variety of roles over the past 20 years, assisting in things like creating content, marketing, growth strategies, event coordination, charity fundraising, people management, creative direction, etc. If you have a socially conscious or impact project and are looking for a solid team contributor, send me a message, and let’s change the world!
After quite a transitional 2020, I’m currently spending the majority of my time working at a pretty cool startup; Edabit.com! I love this position because I’m able to connect people with an addictive and affordable way to expand practical coding skills from the comfort of their own homes. Those who know me know I had some interesting challenges with post-secondary education and love to encourage independent learning. If you have any questions about Edabit.com or are looking for affiliate opportunities – fill me in.
The Life Hacks section of the website is officially live and will be taking shape over the next few months. Check it out for the latest reviews, product suggestions, or online education tools! Some of this section is connected with affiliate links so I appreciate any purchases or support and thank you in advance for reading.
My Backstory & Photography Bio –
After spending over 15 years working with GEMINI Modelling Agency as an event producer, agent and project manager, I chose to follow my heart and pursue a career in photography! I’m lucky to be a part of Nikon Professional Services and am an insured professional. High fives to adulting! While I am not spending my fulltime hours on photography in our current world climate, I’m excited to unveil some new work and upcoming projects I have in the works as I continue to develop as an artist.
I’ve always had a love for photography. As a child, I set out to capture timeless images of anything that would cross my path. I was especially interested in waterfront or sunsets and the colours they would transition through in mere minutes. My work has been published numerous times both locally and internationally. I love the variety of work that photography allows. I’m lucky as a photographer to be able to transition from shooting portraits to photographing a delicious meal. “Yes, work it spaghetti! Show me your delicious side!” Haha!
I love to strive for perfection and I am captivated when someone sees themselves through my perspective for the first time! I specialize with those who are awkward in front of the camera – my 15 year career with GEMINI Modelling Agency included extensive behind the scenes experience and coaching both new and pro models on posing. So together, I know that we can achieve that natural, “oh it’s so you” image!
Outside of photography, I LOVE travel, food, yoga, beef jerky and a great glass of red wine. I can be found on my time off taking my autistic brother out around town or cuddled up with a great book and a cup of tea.
